MLB Magic Numbers

A magic number is the number of wins by a team or number of losses by another team (or combination of the two) that is needed to guarantee they finish ahead of the team being compared to. When the magic number reaches 0 they have clinched finishing ahead of the other team.

PO = magic number to make the playoffs

GR = games remaining

162W = expected wins for the 162-game season based on the team's current winning percentage

Note: Tie-breakers are not accounted for. If a team owns a tie-breaker, the magic number needs to reach 1 instead of 0 to clinch against that team.
